Yo-Yo Test Formula
These are the formula used for the yo-yo test calculators.
Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test Level 1 (YYIR1)
You can use the YYIR1 calculator to work out the VO2max, or use this conversion chart, based on the same formula (Bangsbo et al. 2008), which is:
VO2max (ml/min/kg) = distance run (m) × 0.0084 + 36.4
Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test Level 2 (YYIR2)
You can use the YYIR2 calculator to work out the VO2max, or use this conversion chart, based on the same formula (Bangsbo et al. 2008), which is:
VO2max (ml/min/kg) = distance run × 0.0136 + 45.3

There has been another prediction equation published. Using the total distance covered in the Yo-Yo IRT1, the VO2max of amateur 15-a-side rugby union players could be estimated through the equation:
VO2max (ml/min/kg) = distance run × 0.016 + 40.578.
